Orlando Pirates breaks Chiefs heart by signing Oswin Appollis

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of Polokwane City and Bafana Bafana attacker Oswin Appollis.

The 23-year-old winger was heavily linked to rivals Kaizer Chiefs for more than a year and that’s why it comes as a surprise when the ex-Rise and Shine star joins the Sea Robbers.

The club announced on their X (Twitter) page, just days after announcing eight new signings. Appollis will bring flair, creativity to the Orlando Pirates team this coming season.

Last week, the Buccaneers officially confirmed the signings of Yanela Mbuthuma (from Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (Amazulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch).

The team is set to undergo their pre-season in Spain, where they will play several friendly matches under the leadership of their new coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou.

Orlando Pirates sign Appollis, what does this mean?

Appollis is one of the best players in the PSL. He is known for his pace, creativity and eye for goal. He will transform the Buccaneers’ attack and improve the team.

Out of the nine new signings, Appollis is a standout. Three other players expected to shine are Sipho Mbule, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Tshepang Moremi. Orlando Pirates now have a complete squad and with Appollis on the left and Mohau Nkota on the right, expect plenty of goals from them next season.

What do you think of Appollis’ signing?
