Orlando Pirates injury news: Three players

Ndah, who has been a key figure in Orlando Pirates’ defence since joining from Nigeria’s Akwa United in 2021, last featured for the Buccaneers in September 2024 before suffering a double leg fracture.

The former skipper, capped for the Super Eagles, missed the entire second half of last season as Bucs battled through the Betway Premiership and cup competitions without him.

His return is set to hand new Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou both experience and calm at the back.

ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYER UPDATES

Olisa Ndah cleared for action

Ndah, 27, is back in full training after almost a year out and has now been declared ready to return to the matchday squad. The defender’s recovery is seen as a major lift ahead of a busy period in the calendar.

“Pirates been boosted by the imminent return of defender Olisa Ndah, who has been back at training while,” the club stated on their website.

Deano Van Rooyen remains touch-and-go

Not all the news is positive for the Buccaneers. Van Rooyen, who sustained a knock in the last league game, is still struggling. He played no part in cup action over the weekend and remains a major doubt for Orlando Pirates’ midweek clash.

Nkosianthi Sibisi still sidelined

Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi continues to nurse an injury picked up earlier in the campaign. His recovery is ongoing, with no clear timeline set for his return.

“For the home side, Deano van Rooyen is again among the doubtful starters after he took no part in cup action on Saturday, following an injury sustained in his side’s last league game,” the club continued.

“Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi continues to recover from a knock picked up earlier in the season.”

Orlando Pirates host ORBIT College at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night (19:30 kick-off). They’ll also be without Monnapule Saleng, Thuso Moleleki and Yanga Madiba, who are not eligible to face their parent club.
