Restaurants go cheap

The Italian chains are not alone in trying to offer good value for money.

Earlier this week German Doner Kebab launched its new Fiver menu.

With all dishes priced at £5 the company said it was trying to appeal more accessible whilst retaining its high quality dining experience.

The popular pasta restaurant Coco Di Mama, is also offereing pasta pot’s for jut £5 across all its London locations.

Customers feel the squeeze

Food inflation has pushed prices up for many resturants up and down the country.

The UK is set to see the highest rate of inflation for advanced economies this year, with higher food costs being a major factor.

Retail leaders warned that food inflation could stay above 5 per cent into next year, if shops are hit with raises in the upcoming budget.

This means that less people are going out to eat at restaurants.
