OAKLANDS POWER OUTAGE REPAIRS DELAYED
Oakland’s power outage repairs have been delayed due to an underground cable buried beneath a tar road requiring thorough extraction.
The power outage was caused by a faulty feeder cable.
City Power said that the repairs will be continued once they receive a wayleave from the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) that will permit trenching.
In the meantime, the power utility said that they are looking into various options for providing a temporary power supply to affected customers.
In other related news, a breaker flashover on the low voltage (LV) in Roosevelt Park Substation, Montgomery Park, caused a power outage in Montgomery Park, East Town and possible surrounding areas.
Two load centers will remain off until repairs are completed.
Will your area also be affected by a power interruption?
