The future of Zimbabwe Warriors coach Michael Nees has become a hot topic in football circles.
Some fans argue that Nees’ record has been disappointing so far, with just two wins in 15 matches. This follows Zimbabwe’s 1-0 defeat to Lesotho on Monday.

Sections of the fan base are calling for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) to act swiftly and sack Nees before the team leaves for Morocco.
Critics argue that the Warriors have regressed under his leadership, showing little progress in tactics, consistency, or team spirit.
Social media has been awash with comments from angry supporters who believe the team risks another embarrassing AFCON exit if Nees remains in charge.
Some have even questioned his team selections and training methods, describing them as outdated and uninspired.
“Why settle for Michael Nees a coach with a glittering resume of flops?,” @Tee_Zee_zw posted on X.
“What criteria did you use to pick this serial underachiever for our Warriors? What did you see in him? How do we build a winning team with a coach who doesn’t have any history of winning?”
Daily News reports that the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) will decide Nees’ fate this week.
Others Urge Patience
However, not everyone agrees that firing the coach is the answer.
A smaller but vocal group of fans believes Nees should be given a final chance to prove himself at AFCON, arguing that frequent coaching changes have destabilized the team in the past.

These supporters say ZIFA should instead focus on providing better support structures such as training camps, friendlies, and player welfare — to give the Warriors a fighting chance at the continental showpiece.
