Prince Andrew MUST have known about Fergie’s grovelling email to paedo Jeffrey Epstein, says royal expert

PRINCE Andrew must have known about Sarah Ferguson’s grovelling apology to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to a royal expert.

The Duchess of York hailed the disgraced financier as a “supreme friend” in a gushing email sent after his release from jail for child sex offences.

She pledged to have no further contact with Epstein and described accepting £15,000 from him as a “gigantic error of judgement” in March 2011.

Fergie decided to “humbly apologise” from her personal email address on April 26 and insisted she didn’t “say the P (paedophile) word about you”.

Royal expert and author Ingrid Seward believes it’s “inconceivable” Andrew was unaware of his ex-wife’s correspondence with their pal Epstein.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “Fergie and Andrew were incredibly close and would hardly ever do anything without consulting one another.

“It’s extremely unlikely she wouldn’t have run an email of such magnitude past her ex-husband before sending it to their joint friend.

“We know Fergie was responding to a threatening email from Epstein after she publicly distanced herself from him in a media interview.

“I find it inconceivable to think she didn’t confide in Andrew about sending a response to him when they were involved with Epstein together.

“She must have told him about the email and shared something of such importance as they both navigated the backlash against their links to him.

“Andrew has always been very protective of the mother of his children and they continued to share a close relationship while living together at Royal Lodge.

“It probably should have been his responsibility to prevent Fergie from having any more dealings with Epstein. But he didn’t and I would lay that at his door.

“Ultimately, this latest twist shows the tentacles of Epstein are never going to go away.

“Everything he touches, albeit from the grave, is pure poison and ruins people’s lives or reputations.”

Last week, The Sun on Sunday told how Fergie, 65, emailed Epstein after he threatened legal action over her linking him to paedophilia.

She wrote in the message: “I was advised in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you.

“And if I did — I would cause more problems to you, the Duke and myself. I was broken and lost.

“So please understand. I didn’t want to hurt Andrew one more time. I was in over-riding fear. I am sorry.”

Pictures showed Andrew, 65, going for a drive and a horse ride in Windsor yesterday hours after being named in explosive Epstein documents.

The new files, released by the US House Oversight Committee, listed the Duke of York as flying on his private jet with him and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Documents showed two other redacted passengers on the flight from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, Florida, on May 12, 2000.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing over his links to Epstein, who took his own life in jail while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges in 2019.
