In shocking news that has come to light, SA ambassador to France Nathi Mthethwa – who served as the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture from 28 May 2019 to 6 March 2023 – has been found dead at a hotel in Paris.
Mthethwa had been reported missing by his wife earlier this week after she “indicated having received a worrying message from him in the evening”.
However, it’s now reported by The Mirror that his body had been found on Tuesday, having apparently died in a fall from the 22nd floor of a hotel.
Mthethwa was originally posted to the French Embassy in February 2024 and was also South Africa’s permanent delegate to UNESCO.
