RORY MCILROY’S wife broke down tears and walked off the course after vile US Ryder Cup fan abuse.
The European star was subjected to a wave of hate throughout his four-ball round with Shane Lowry on Saturday afternoon.

He was hit with chants of ‘f*** you Rory’ along with vitriolic insults about his family and personal life.
His wife, Erica Stoll, watched on in horror as the abuse got worse and worse throughout his impressive round of golf.
It is understood she was even hit by a drink thrown by a fan from the stands at Bethpage Black, New York.
Her husband could be seen consoling her on the 18th green at the end of the day.
And according to The 42 in Ireland, it was all too much for Erica, who was seen crying.
She is said to have had ‘tears streaming down her face’ as her and McIlroy walked off the course.
They were locked arm-in-arm as he made sure his wife was okay.
McIlroy revealed he was “drained” after the round on Saturday following the American abuse.
He put in a gutsy performance alongside Lowry to add another point to the Team Europe total.
They lead the US 11 1/2 to 4 1/2 going into the final day of singles action.
The 36-year-old and Erica announced they were getting divorced last year.
But shortly afterwards, they revealed they had patched their marriage up.
And a number of fans targeted his personal relationship, which went too far.
“How’s your divorce going?,” one is claimed to have shouted.

Another added: “Your ex is looking for you.”
A third shouted: “Rory, how’s your love life.”
McIlroy and Erica married in 2017 and have a daughter, Poppy.
The PGA of America – who run the Ryder Cup – were forced into emergency security measures on Saturday.
They had to ramp up protection and call in the State Police following the vile abuse towards McIlroy and Co.
A guard of officers could be seen up the fairways, along with dogs.
A number of fans were kicked out of the tournament following the abuse.

THE 45th Ryder Cup takes place from September 26-28 with the US team desperate to wrestle back the crown from Europe.
Scottie Scheffler and the American side will battle Rory McIlroy’s European team in New York.
The infamous Bethpage Black course will be the venue for the latest edition of the pulsating golf tournament.
NBC will broadcast the competition in it’s entirety in the United States.
Friday’s foursomes and fourballs will be live on USA Network from 7 am ET to 6 pm ET.
Saturday’s action will take place during the same hours live on NBC.
And Sunday’s singles will also be on NBC from 12 pm ET to 6 pm ET.
