TEAM EUROPE are closing in on Ryder Cup glory after a stunning Saturday at Bethpage Black – but the Americans have ignited a stunning comeback on final day.
Team USA have taken the points from the first two singles matches and are threatening something special.
Yesterday, Luke Donald’s men won the foursomes and the fourballs both 3-1 in a fiery second day.
Tempers flared with fans ejected for shouting abuse at Rory McIlroy, who at one point refused to play as a result of the heckling, and there was a row between Justin Rose and Bryan DeChambeau’s caddie.
But despite the controversy, Europe didn’t let the home crowd get on top of them and they ended the day with a SEVEN-point lead over Team USA coming.
The Europeans need just 2.5 more points from Sunday’s singles to retain the Ryder Cup.
