Orlando Pirates’ victory over Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 final has drawn praise from the highest office in the land.
The South African Government sent a message of congratulations to the Buccaneers after they secured a record fourth MTN8 crown on the bounce.
An extra-time brace from substitute Tsepang Moremi and a classic striker’s finish by Tshegofatso Mabaso sealed the first trophy of the Premier Soccer League for Orlando Pirates.

In what is a golden era, the Sea Robbers have now lifted six titles in four seasons:
- MTN8 2022
- Nedbank Cup 2023
- MTN8 2023
- Nedbank Cup 2024
- MTN8 2024
- MTN8 2025.
Meanwhile, three more domestic titles are still up for grabs this season; the Carling Knockout, the Betway Premiership and the Nedbank Cup.
