Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, has reacted to a race-baiting comment from a troll who questioned why the Springbok opted to use both his parents’ last names.
The 23-year-old has been a hot topic on social media after he won the Man of the Match title after scoring a hat-trick of tries against Argentina on Saturday, 27 September.
The Boks beat their rivals 67-30 in Durban.
SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU’S DAD CLAPS BACK AT TROLL
On his X account, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, has thanked the public for their well wishes after his son’s impressive performance in Durban over the weekend.
The sports radio personality clapped back at a troll, who questioned why Sacha opted to use both his parents’ last names.
X user @africanpanther posted: “When this kid first broke through, he was known only as Mngomezulu”.
Addressing Nick, he asked, “Did you pressure him into including your hard-to-pronounce name for such moments?”
Nick Feinberg clapped back: “I don’t normally answer stuff like this. But to satisfy whatever deep need you are servicing, the answer to that is no.”
WHO ARE HIS PARENTS, BROTHER?
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu was born to British-born Nick Feinberg and South African Zulu woman, Makhosazana Mngomezulu, of whom he carries both surnames.
Nick is a well-known Heart FM DJ and is also a respected sports writer for the Daily Voice.
He told Jacaranda FM of his son’s rise to fame: “I’ve been on the radio probably over 25 years. But now I’m completely redundant, and I’m just known as Sacha’s dad.
Sacha’s mother is an advocate in the Cape Bar and often retweets messages of support for her son.
Sacha’s paternal grandfather is anti-Apartheid activist Barry Feinberg.
According to the SABC, Barry was a distinguished artist, poet, and author who “played a pivotal role behind the scenes in designing and creating publicity materials for the anti-Apartheid movement.”
