Sky reveals ‘lowest price is back’ on popular TV package with ultra-fast fibre broadband that beats UK average speeds

SKY is offering its “lowest price” on a tempting bundle that gets you TV and full-fibre broadband.

The package is available to 60% of UK homes, so there’s a good chance that you can bag it.

You get speedy full-fibre 300Mbps broadband, which will be handy for any gamers in the house[/caption]

Its official name is: Essential TV & 300Mbps Full Fibre Broadband.

As the name suggests, you get Sky‘s Essential TV package, which you can use with Sky Stream (included) or a Sky Glass telly – and it costs £35 a month.

It gets you Sky Atlantic, and even chucks in bonus perks like free Netflix and Discovery+.

But it also gets you 300Mbps Full Fibre broadband, which Sky says is “double the speed of Full Fibre 150 for the same low price”.

According to a 2024 Ofcom report, the average UK broadband download speed was 223Mbps, which comes in slightly below this Sky package.

Of course, you’re not guaranteed to get bang-on 300Mbps speeds all day, every day.

But 300Mbps is a very respectable internet speed that should be able to handle streaming, gaming, and browsing even in busy households.

For instance, Netflix recommends just 15Mbps or higher for streaming in its top resolution – Ultra High Definition, also known as 4K.

This particular bundle is on a 24-month contract, and doesn’t have any upfront fees.

Sky Essential TV is the company’s entry-level telly package.

So you get Sky Atlantic and an exclusive library of some top series like House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, and The Last of Us.

You also get 90 free to air channels, as well as access to two streaming services: Netflix and Discovery+.

For free Netflix, it’s very simple.

Just log into Netflix on your Sky machine and link your accounts.

You’ll receive the basic version of Netflix, but you have the option to upgrade.

If you do decide to move up to a more expensive Netflix tier, you’ll only pay the difference – and not the full price.

And it’s a similar story for the bonus benefit of Discovery+.

The Discovery+ Entertainment plan normally costs £3.99 a month.

But you can access it with Sky totally free of charge.

As far as the broadband element goes, you’ll need to live somewhere that has access to a full-fibre broadband connection.

It’s also worth noting that this deal is only available to “new Sky customers”.

Earlier this week, BT’s Openreach announced plans to start trialling ultra-fast 8.5Gbps internet speeds.

The initial trial will begin early next year in Guildford, and see 40,000 premises receiving as high as 38x the national average internet speed.
