Springboks’ latest three debutants attended these SCHOOLS

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus named three debutants who could make their Test debuts against Italy at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:10.

They are Asenathi Ntlabakanye (Lions prop), who featured in their 54-7 victory against the Barbarians two weekends ago, Cobus Wiese (Bulls utility forward) – brother of No 8 Jasper Wiese – and Ethan Hooker (Sharks utility back), who have all been in fantastic form for their respective franchises this year.

The trio will become Springboks #947, #948 and #949 depending on what order they are called off the bench.

Which schools did the trio attend?

Asenathi Ntlabakanye attended St Stithians College in Sandton, Gauteng.

He will become just the third Springbok old boy from the school after Lance Sherrell and Brent Russell.

Cobus Wiese attended Hoërskool Upington and will become the fifth Springbok produced by the Northern Cape school, following in the footsteps of Willem Barnard, Mannetjies Gericke, Tiaan Strauss, and his brother Jasper Wiese.

The Wiese’s will become the 37th set of brothers to play for South Africa.

Finally, Ethan Hooker attended Westville Boys’ High School.

He will become the third Springbok from the KwaZulu-Natal school after Tim Cocks and Waylon Murray.
