Step away from the thermostat – Aldi’s £9.99 middle aisle buy will keep you warm at night for whole of winter

NOBODY wants to get into a freezing cold bed.

Luckily, bargain supermarket Aldi has got the answers to any Baltic boudoirs.

The Silentnight Thermal Mattress Cover promises to keep you toasty when it’s anything but outside.

A double sized cover comes in at a penny-pinching £9.99 – or £11.99 for a king bed.

It claims to be ‘like a warm hug for your tired muscles’ this is worth getting into bed early for.

The supermarket giant teases: “Add a little extra protection to your mattress to help keep you warm though those colder nights.

“You will be excited to snuggle down and feel that fleecy fabric under your body.”

It adds thermal warmth for colder nights, with a teddy fleece material.

Hypoallergenic, it adds an extra 3 tog of heat to uninviting beds and comes with a fitted skirt for a secure fit.

As energy bills rose from October 1, cranking up the heat isn’t always an option for everyone.

If you want to stop heat from escaping your home, it’s a good idea to invest in a draught excluder.

The retailer is also offering a £5.99 draft excluder which comes in a wide range of styles, including dog, pumpkin and cream boucle.

An electric blanket could come in handy if you are looking to keep even cosier.

If condensation on windows is a problem, you can fix it for less than £1 with a savvy Aldi buy.

Aldi shaving foam, priced at 95p, has worked out as the most effective way of stopping condensation on windows.

It’s a messy hack, but all you simply have to so is spray folds of the foam generously across the window pane and leave it overnight.

Households have been warned that the clever trick is not a long-term solution.

Homes that suffer from extensive condensation issues are advised to purchase a dehumidifier.

As well as these bargains, the German retail giant has said it is rolling out new dedicated reduction zones to make it easier for customers to spot deals.

It comes as the popular chain was recently crowned the UK’s cheapest supermarket.
