Mamelodi Sundowns, the champions of the Betway Premiership, have signed Bafana Bafana left-back Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC after his standout season with seven goals and eight assists in 48 matches.
The 28-year-old is the club’s first signing ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League campaigns, with two more additions expected.
Sundowns are also set to replace Lucas Suarez and Kobamelo Kodisang as part of their squad refresh.

Meanwhile, the Argentine left-center back Suarez was not offered a new deal after his six-month loan deal expired, while Kodisang joined Portugal’s AVS Futebol on loan.
According to recent reports, Sundowns are closing in on two more signings. The first being TS Galaxy and Bafana Bafana defender Khulumani Ndamane, and Chippa United’s winger Aphelele Teto.
