Gauteng residents can expect a mix of clear and cloudy conditions today, 27 August, with temperatures warming during the day after a cold night.
According to Odirile Modipa, a weather forecaster, “Those cloud conditions are expected to spread to most parts of the country, leaving clear and sunny skies over the extreme western regions.”
Daytime temperatures will climb to 26°C in Pretoria and 29°C in Johannesburg, making for a warm afternoon.
Sunny in Gauteng, isolated showers in neighbouring provinces
Although Gauteng itself is set for dry conditions, Modipa warned of isolated showers in parts of the Northern Cape and the Northwest.
“Scattered thunderstorms are expected as you move into the northwestern part of the Northern Cape,” she explained.
Fire Danger Alert
A concern remains about fire danger warnings. Modipa cautioned that “high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as parts of the Northern Cape.”
With cold nights and warm afternoons, Gauteng is set for mild but dry conditions, while nearby provinces face more unstable weather.
