Nathan Aspinall headlines today’s action, while the likes of Luke Humphries and Stephen Bunting will have to wait until tomorrow’s second round.
Martin Schindler is the defending champion after he beat Ryan Seale 8-7 in last year’s final.
World champion Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen are the biggest names who have skipped the event in Switzerland.
