US electric vehicle maker Tesla’s board on Friday proposed a pay and “performance” package for CEO Elon Musk that could top $1 trillion if certain milestones are met.
The plan, which runs for 10 years and must be approved by shareholders, provides for the granting of shares to Musk based on Tesla’s market valuation, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
South Africa-born Elon Musk is the world’s richest person with a net worth of $430.9 billion according to Forbes.
