Losing record
In what may be a surprise to many, the world champions Springboks ‘boast’ a losing record against the Barbarians.
In their eight encounters to date, the Springboks have won three times, drawn once and lost four matches, for a win percentage of just 38%.
South Africa have scored 150 points and conceded 154, while they have scored 23 to the 29 of the Barbarians.
Saturday’s match will be the first time the two sides will do battle on South African soil.
The most recent clash at Wembley Stadium in 2016 ended in a 31-31 stalemate.
The officials for the match all hail from South Africa.
The referee for the match will be AJ Jacobs. He will be assisted by Christopher Allison and Stephan Geldenhuys, while Egon Seconds is the TMO and Ben Crouse is in the bunker.
No Test caps will be awarded for the match.
