THE best islands in the UK have been revealed for 2025 and they look more like somewhere far-flung.
The Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall have been crowned the UK’s very best.

The islands are known for having warm weather and white sand beaches[/caption]
The archipelago is made up of five inhabited islands as well as over 140 other smaller islands and inlets.
The most popular islands for holidaymakers are Tresco, St Mary’s, Bryher, St Martin’s and St Agnes.
Each is different, but all are known for having white sandy beaches, seals and marvellous weather in the summertime.
The average temperature is just 11C, but this is the warmest in the British Isles and they have a mild climate all year round.
In the summertime temperatures can reach highs of 20C with the best months to visit being between April and October.
Here’s what you need to know about each of them.
When it comes to wildlife, the Isles of Scilly are known for being home to seals.
The best places to see seals on the Isles of Scilly are from land at Pelistry on St Mary’s, Great Bay on St Martin’s, and Great Par on Bryher.
There’s also the option of taking snorkelling trip around St Martin’s, and you might even spot dolphins and whales from the coastline too.
St Mary’s
The largest island in the Isles of Scilly is St Mary’s which is home to around 1,800 residents.
It’s home to the Scillonian capital called Hugh Town where visitors will find independent shops, art galleries and plenty of restaurants.
Porthcressa Beach is one of the best on the island, it’s Caribbean like with its white sand and bright blue waters.
Tresco
The second largest island is Tresco which is less about beaches and more about rocky landscapes.
It has castle ruins and is known for the Tresco Abbey Garden which first opened in the 1830s and has 17 acres of gardens with over 20,000 species of exotic plants.
Prince William, Princess Kate and their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis have even been spotted there in the past.
In 2020, the family visited and were seen cycling on Tresco Island, and at the time told The Sun: “We hardly noticed at first as they seemed a normal family on holiday intent on keeping themselves to themselves.
“The place where they were staying was quite modest and certainly not hugely luxurious.”
