These Cape Town markets are open 7 days a week

While there are ample markets to choose from when you’re in Cape Town, not all of them are open seven days a week.

There are several markets you can try if you don’t want to wait until the weekend. These are also the perfect spots for travellers who want a taste of different dining experiences and connect with the community.

Let’s take a look at where you can find them below.

Mojo Market

Mojo Market is located on Regent Road in Seapoint and offers free entry. There are over 30 food vendors to choose from. It ranges, from Asian cuisine, South African, Indian, Italian, with seafood, red meats, and vegetarian options to name a few. You can find the classics like pizzas and burgers, and more! Not to mention delicious desserts, think mini doughnuts, ice cream, and fun teas inspired by Taiwanese tea bars.

You can find a full schedule of fun events and live music throughout the week. For example, tonight is Karaoke Monday and tomorrow is Jazzy Tuesday. Other events include a comedy evening, Salsa dancing, Zumba, Reggae, and keep an eye out for upcoming Halloween.

Time Out Market

Time Out Market is at the V&A Waterfront at The Old Power Station on Dock Road. It’s also the first in Africa, having several other branches around the world. This is a must-visit for a cultural and culinary experience. It offers over 10 kitchens and several bars backed by award-winning chefs.

Some of the cuisines include the delectable and bestselling ramen noodles from Ramenhead and the De Vrije Burger made from free-range beef. There is so much to choose from here that suits any taste and preference. You can simply go and try a different dish every day of the week! It goes without saying that you will find some of the best desserts and coffees here, too.

The Watershed Market

The Watershed Market is also at the V&A Waterfront on Dock Road. It’s not strictly a food and drink market. There are over 100 arts and crafts vendors who showcase their brands here.

You can find timeless and unique pieces that range from furniture, décor, jewellery, clothing, textiles, ceramics, and more. If you are looking for a place to find locally designed products, this is your stop.

So whether you are a local or just touring around Cape Town for a short while, these are ideal markets worth visiting that are open throughout the week and will suit your schedule. Of course, you should also try other markets if you want to pick up some fresh produce or get a feel for new areas in and around Cape Town.
