After no success in January, Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly to reopen negotiations with Polokwane City over star winger Oswin Appollis.
It’s been a season to forget for the Bafana Bafana international, scoring just two league goals in twenty-six games, yet AmaKhosi remain interested in the Cape Town native – in fact, the move seems to be all but sealed.
“If you were talking about Appollis, I could have agreed with you. It’s also an open secret that Chiefs are interested in him,” an inside source revealed. “The negotiations are believed to also be at an advanced stage as there are a few logistics they are working on, but not Elias Mokwana.”
Mako inbound?
Another player reportedly on the verge of being announced on Kaizer Chiefs’ books is Orlando Pirates left-back Paseka Mako, who will become a free agent at the end of the month.
The array of offseason links comes days after coach Nasreddine Nabi made it publicly known that he would leave if the club fail to give him the means to buy additional firepower, telling SuperSport, “I wouldn’t be honest if say that I’m gonna stay if the club doesn’t allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies.”
“That’s the condition for me to stay [at Chiefs] because I don’t feel that I want to go through what I went through this season.”
Only time will tell what unfolds.
