Two men were shot and killed during an argument at a tavern in Ventersburg, Free State, on Saturday evening.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Palesa Thabana said officers who responded to the scene found two men, aged 29 and 41, lifeless on the floor, after being allegedly shot by a suspect who was at the establishment.
Thabana said the victims and the alleged suspect were playing a game of pool when an argument ensued.
Game of pool turns deadly
“According to information, the trio was playing a game of pool when an argument erupted between them,” said Thabana in a statement on Sunday.
She said the 37-year-old suspect was allegedly attacked by the victims. He then went outside, returned with a firearm, and allegedly shot and killed both men.
The alleged shooter was arrested and will appear before the Ventersburg Magistrate’s court facing two murder charges on Monday.
