In many ways it was a perfect weekend for the Springboks in the Rugby Championship as they claimed a 67-30 bonus-point win over Argentina, while New Zealand claimed a hard-fought victory over Australia, but without a bonus-point.
As a result, the Springboks have now moved to the top of the standings, one point ahead of the All Blacks, and with a vastly superior points difference (+55 to New Zealand’s -6).
Australia are in third place with 11 points, while Argentina are fourth on nine points.
The Springboks now head towards next weekend’s clash against Argentina in London knowing that simply a win will secure them a second successive Rugby Championship title.

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu scored a record 37 points, including three tries, as the Springboks beat Argentina 67-30 (half-time 25-23) to go top of the Rugby Championship log.
The star of the show was Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who scored three sublime tries and added eight conversions and two penalty goals for a match haul of 37 points, pushing his individual points’ tally past the previous record of 35, that was set by Percy Montgomery against Namibia in Cape Town in 2007.
The Bok flyhalf bettered the previous best mark with the last play of the match, converting a second try by Pieter-Steph du Toit, much to the delight of the 45,158 people who attended a thrilling Test that will be remembered for a long time.
