Warm conditions expected across KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) will remain warm with clear skies in most areas, though coastal regions may experience more heat build-up. Pietermaritzburg will see a low of 12°C in the morning, climbing to 27°C in the afternoon. Richards Bay will record the highest temperatures, peaking at 32°C.

“Temperatures across KZN will remain high, particularly along the coast where Richards Bay could exceed 30°C,” forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said.

Morning fog expected in parts of KwaZulu-Natal

The province could see fog patches, particularly in high-lying areas during the morning. This may affect visibility on the roads and slow down travel. Thobela cautioned motorists to drive carefully and account for the early-morning haze.

“Fog is expected in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, especially over the highlands, which could reduce visibility during morning travel,” he noted.

Rainfall and cooler evenings

Eastern and inland regions of KZN may experience scattered rainfall tomorrow afternoon, though it will not be widespread. Thobela explained that localized showers are possible, followed by slightly cooler evening conditions in certain areas.

“While most of KZN will remain dry, light rainfall could develop in the eastern and western parts during the afternoon,” he explained.

Given these mixed conditions, will you take precautions against the heat and the possibility of afternoon showers?
