Watch new Kaizer Chiefs star: Long range goals, deadly free kicks!

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly sealed the deal to bring in Ethan Chislett as one of their new signings.

Chislett is expected to join up with his new Chiefs teammates on Thursday as their pre-season testing continues.

Chislett reject clubs abroad for Chiefs

The playmaker was previous based in the UK, playing English League One football for Port Vale. Chislett’s contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the month and he decided not to renew it. This as the side gained promotion from League Two. Chiefs then snapped him up!

Furthermore, several clubs both abroad and Chiefs were placed on high alert on his availability. Clubs like Scottish Premiership side Motherwell as well as English League One outfit Wigan reportedly tried to keep him in Europe. However, it is believed that Chislett had long had his sights on a return to South Africa, his homeland.

Injury ravaged season last campaign

It was subsequently no surprise then that he rejected the above opportunities in favour of a move to Chiefs instead. It is thought that Chislett has indeed, put pen to paper on a two year deal with Amakhosi. During his time at Vale, he really came out of his shell. Last season was more of an injury ravaged season that saw him play only 25 times. In those occasions he contributed seven goal contributions. Those being four goals and three assists.

But it was the season prior that saw Chislett really prove his worth to the club and fans at Vale. The 26-year-old played 50 matches, scoring 11 times while laying seven assists. His goals catalogue includes a very impressive blend of long range strikes, deadly free kicks and goals in the box. With Chiefs struggling in front of goal and to create at times, it looks like the Durban-native comes at the right time. Check out some of his goals for Vale below:
