Who is Brooklyn Earick and how much has he bid for Tottenham?

HE is a former DJ who went on to work for NASA.

Brooklyn Earick then turned his hand to leaping into the tech world of blockchain and apps.

And he has lived in pretty much every corner of the world, too.

But if Earick’s latest plan comes to fruition, he will be the next boss of Tottenham Hotspur.

And promising to change N17 like it’s never been changed before.

SunSport can reveal Earick is heading a US consortium that is plotting a £4.5billion takeover of Spurs.

Earick and his partners are offering £3.3bn to buy out the entire club from owners ENIC and the Lewis family.

And the proposed new owners are ready to set aside a further £1.2bn for the “player budget” – including wages, fees and agent payments – to be made available to Thomas Frank from the opening of the January window.

Earick, 41, has assembled a group of 12 that includes NFL and NBA investors.

He has a “Tottenham 3.0” blueprint to take Tottenham to the next level.

And the tech guru has also lined up a £250m stadium naming rights deal – something that was beyond Daniel Levy for six years after the new ground was opened in 2019.

Who is he?

Born in the small city of Bellefontaine, 30 miles north west of Columbus in Ohio, Earick – he took his adoptive father’s name – has never exactly followed a regular path.

He started DJ-ing with electric music from the age of 15 at “dingy warehouses parties” in Columbus, where he went to university and then sold pharmaceuticals by day before spinning the discs at night.

Success – he made his name at the Sundance Music Festival – saw Earick secure a deal with Warner Records to play venues across the globe, although he was once briefly arrested in Canada for performing without a visa.

In a 2011 interview, where he stated his favourite venue was the Escape club in the heart of Amsterdam, he said: “It’s crazy how big electronic music is everywhere.

“I always relate it to soccer: Soccer is massive everywhere else in the world, and it’s just starting to gain a little steam here in the U.S. It’s kind of the same with electronic music.”

But he hung up his decks to work for the US Space agency in his late 20s before the move into the tech industry a decade or so ago.

Projects headed by Earick included the food-based social media app Phoodie and he was chief marketing officer of media app Littlstar and worked for blockchain software developers Ara Blocks.

He admitted to feeling burnout from his DJ career, so quit to move to a completely new field with NASA.

In a 2016 interview, Earick said: “I spent the better part of a decade as a DJ and music producer. I’ve played shows all over the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Europe, from LA to NYC to London to Ibiza.

“I’m very fortunate to have done that for as long as I did, but I was definitely burnt out towards the end.

“So I hung up the headphones, moved to San Francisco and landed an internship at NASA Ames as an electrical engineer in the small spacecraft division.

“NASA is where I was first exposed to computer programming.

“I quickly realized how powerful it was, and loved the fact that if you had an idea, you could open your computer and start it right away.

“So I started taking online courses for both coding and design, reading books and brainstorming ideas.”

A dizzying career, involving investment in NFTs and other projects, has seen Earick rock up in Singapore and Monaco.

Earlier this year he was close to agreeing a deal to take over the Maserati MSG Formula E racing team.

That fell through at the last moment but going through the gears at Spurs would propel him into the global spotlight. And there would be no Escape from the attention.

Earick is the founder of Redacted RnD and also has an investment fund entity called Algorith Capital that focuses on technology.

Redacted RnD describes itself as “a thought leader in blockchain innovation and digital assets” with its leader described as “a seasoned entrepreneur” which has “raised over $500million globally with multiple successful exits”.

When could he buy Spurs?

Talk of a takeover has ramped up since Daniel Levy left the club at the beginning of the month.

But Enic have so far claimed the club is not up for sale.

That could complicate negotiations, with the club already confirming they have rejected two takeover approaches.

A statement read: “The Board of the Club and ENIC confirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC has no intention to accept any such offer to acquire its interest in the Club.”

Earick may be a bit more in cautious in his approach too following the collapse of his proposed takeover of Maserati.

The deal had effectively been announced but certain obligations were not meant, which prevented the takeover from going through.

It was reported that part of Earick’s plan was to introduce some celebrity music industry personalities to the team.
