One of the PSL’s greatest mysteries currently is Monnapule Saleng’s future at Orlando Pirates.
The 27-year-old hasn’t played a league game since last November after a falling out with the Buccaneers over salary demands the latter declined to meet. Saleng seems set for an exit this winter, but with Jose Riveiro having left, what if he’s waiting to find out who the successor will be?
If it’s someone pro-Saleng, then he could find himself with not only a more lucrative contract but also securing a spot in the first team again. Orlando Pirates are a better team within it. However, the last six months have gone so sour that many believe the relationship has expired.
Only time will tell where Saleng will be next season.
Youngster inbound?
According to reports, Orlando Pirates (and Kaizer Chiefs) are eyeing SuperSport United left-back Neo Rapoo.
“Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are both keen to sign SuperSport United left-back Neo Rapoo ahead of the new season,” an inside source revealed.
“His performances as he led South Africa U20 to the Africa Cup of Nations title earned him interest in Scandinavia and the Gulf but sources as Matsatsansa have confirmed Chiefs and Pirates are both seriously after the player who is seen as future senior national team left-back.”
“With Orlando Pirates having released Paseka Mako and the retirement of Innocent Maela, their interest on the promising full-back comes as no surprise, while Chiefs are looking to remedy a position that has plagued them in the last couple of seasons.”
Who else should Orlando Pirates sign?
