Wiaan Mulder broke Hashim Amla’s record for the highest score by a Proteas batsman against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo on Monday.
Mulder scored 367 not out when he – as captain – elected to declare the Proteas’ first innings score on a massive 626/5.
Amla’s record had stood at 311* against England at The Oval in 2012.
Mulder score is the fifth-highest ever in Test cricket.
He gave up the chance of surpassing the highest Test innings score ever of 400* set by Brian Lara, also against England, in St John’s in 2004.
