
A WOMAN has died after being hit by a van while crossing a busy road in a market town.
Police raced to reports to a collision in Rotheram, South Yorkshire on Friday morning.

It’s understood that the 28-year-old had attempted to cross the road and was hit by a grey Mercedes Vito.
The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency services.
The driver of the van remained at the scene and has helped officers with their inquiries.
Her family has been informed and are being supported by family liason officers, South Yorkshire Police said.
The force said: “We are urging anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to officers to come forward and speak to us.”
